Amazing all around! Still thinking about the beef short ribs, Korean fried chicken and the grilled broccoli. The goyza and tuna crispy rice were also very good. The only item I truly would pass on is the Thai rice. Texture was good but there was some sort of an overpowering glaze taste to it. Service was a bit slow, but the waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The inside was very trendy and decorated well. Definitely would go back!

Wow ! What an experience. Came here for a nice team dinner with some colleagues from work and wow we were blown away. Shout out to Meagan and the rest of the staff for the amazing service and suggestions. The space is beautiful and conveys a sense of Lo-Fi Luxury. The hip hop music combined with greenery and the laughter of the company is the perfect trifecta. NOW THE FOOD !! It just kept getting better. I thought the fried chicken was the best meal of the night , then the Pastrami bao buns came out , then the burnt ends became the best but THE SHORT RIB ?!! Incredible way to end our dinner perfectly paired with the sweet potato. And to top it off the Strawberry Sundae is incredible. Texturally it's all there combined with this almost elegant fruity pebble flavor. Would definitely return !

The first 30 minutes were a disaster, but they made it up after some time. The biggest issue is their service; everything else is rather good. SERVICE We had a reservation and were initially seated inside, but it was uncomfortably loud. We requested to be moved outdoors, and the weird part was -- it seemed there was no designated server for the outdoor area, resulting in us needing to ask for service multiple times. Eventually, I had to snap a bit to get their attention. The service really needs improvement; it was quite a significant mishap. To give you an idea of the extent, I arrived a bit late, and my friends had already started with drinks. Despite staff frequently passing by, I couldn't get neither any attention nor a drink for about 20-25 minutes. When we finally got a server's attention, he seemed rushed and unprofessional, trying to remember our orders without writing them down. He re-confirmed our order four times, repeated it again three times, and still forgot some items. We let it pass, but it was frustrating. At one point, we were the only table outside, and the staff constantly rushed us. Meanwhile, the inside of the restaurant was bustling. It felt very unwelcoming. To top it off, they didn't even offer us dessert--we had to ask for it. The service definitely needs attention. Sitting outside allowed us to be a bit more forgiving, but it would have been a disaster if we had stayed inside. AMBIENCE The interior is stylish and lavish, filled with beautiful people, and features a gorgeous bar where you can enjoy a fancy cocktail. However, one downside is the noise level--it gets quite loud inside. Because of the noise, depending on your table's location, you might struggle to hold a conversation, which led us to request a move to the outside terrace. The terrace is lovely and comfortable, well-separated from the street, providing a pleasant experience. FOOD The food was honestly delicious. Even though we weren't very hungry, we ordered a variety of dishes for the table. Each dish was not only tasty but also visually appealing. -- Kale Chips: These are okay; the chips are quite fatty and greasy. I enjoyed them, but they didn't blow me away. I guess it is a perfect dish for kale lovers. -- Salmon Crispy Rice: It's not my favorite, but my friends loved it--so let's trust their taste! The crispy rice was delicious, but I did not really like salmon. -- Beef Tartare: This dish is absolutely delicious, served with fresh bread. If you love and eat raw meat, it is a must-try. The dressing was spectacular. -- Cold Noodles: This dish was everyone's favorite--definitely a must-try. The flavors combined made it delicious. We also opted for some desserts, something very chocolat-y & something very coconut-y. While these weren't the best we've had, they were certainly not the worst. Sweet enough to love those. Overall Experience Overall, I left satisfied except for their service. The ambiance and food were really good, though the service could use some attention. For three people with minimal alcohol, our bill came to about $350. I would recommend & go back to this place.

Wow! Literally obsessed. Such a cool vibe, I felt like I was in Miami. Food was amazing!! Only thing was service lacked, brought out two wrong drinks. Also brought out another drink no one ordered and we still got charged for it. But other than that it was great! I got lychee martinis to drink. These were fabulous. The crispy rice was ok. Definitely have had better. It lacked flavor and the rice was a bit hard. Shishito peppers were amazing! Full of flavor with a garlic chili crunch. The corn ribs shocked me. These were soooooo good. They had a aioli on them, I would eat a whole bowl! The chilled noodles were great - they had a peanut sauce. The veggie rice I would skip next time, not much flavor. The pork belly boa buns blew me away. These are insane. Meat is so tender and the bao is so fluffy. Literally one of the best bao buns ever. Another favorite was the fried chicken. This one really shocked me. Cooked to perfection with the best hot sauce on it. Amazing! Overall the food is great. I expected better service/friendlier waiter for such a nice place but regardless I'll be back!

Alex, the bartender, is absolutely amazing!!! He's professional, very knowledgeable about his craft and very willing to answer our many questions about different drinks and how to make them. Alex truly made a very special experience for us on our first visit to. KYU.

My boyfriend and I walked in on a Friday night for happy hour at 5:40 PM, and grabbed two seats at the bar. Like the original location in Miami, they have a great selection of both food and drinks for HH. We ordered: + Pink puppy cocktail + Good morning, Vietnam cocktail + Always money in the banana stand cocktail + Krunchy kale + Baby back ribs + Tuna crispy rice + Japanese sweet potato + Dark chocolate s'mores cake Pink puppy was excellent; it's one of their signatures for a reason. Best food was the cake (one of the greatest desserts ever!!), crispy rice (another signature) and kale. This may just be the best HH deal in town... the portions are the same as if you order off the main menu in the dining room -- for a fraction of the price! Bartenders were super fun and nice, and the atmosphere in the bar area was super festive (the dining room is swanky but had less of a vibe). Cocktails were good, but not $22 good, so happy hour is your best bet. I also tried a sample of the shiso margarita - need to get that next time! 4.5 stars.

1000/10 Recommend. It's been a while since I've dined in NYC & raved about every single bite and sip of food consumed, but KYU got it. For my girls birthday dinner, we decided to do the tasting menu with wine pairings. They started us off with crispy rice and tuna (not pictured), crispy kale, roasted cauliflower, followed by the fried chicken and the stone pot fried rice. Everything was delicious and I would absolutely recommend everything but that crispy kale changed my life for the better. I need the Chef to tell me how to make that at home literally the perfect snack. The fried chicken was seasoned & fried to perfection & was the perfect blend of Korean & Black American spices. It's sat on a bed of spinach with a chipotle type sauce, and I will think about this dish for a while. For our main entrée, we had the short rib, grilled broccoli, and sweet potato. My God today. That chef was cooking like he owed somebody something I swear the depths of flavor & intentionality with each meal knocked my socks off. I was there last night & already plotting ways to go back today. So serious. Don't even think about it, just book your reservation.

My friend loved Kyu when she went to Miami and we decided to try it in NYC. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside. It is perfect for a romantic date or girls night. We came on a Saturday at 8pm and the restaurant was packed. We got seated quickly for our reservation. We definitely overordered but we we wanted to try everything. We got: -Tuna crispy rice: really enjoyed this dish. The tuna was so fresh, but couldn't taste the chili in it. Definitely overpriced at $32, but Kyu is known for this dish so you have to get it -Japanese sweet potato: super interesting dish. The potato was huge and baked with cheese and butter. The sweet and saltiness balanced well. Wish it was warmer though -Short rib: the absolute STAR of the meal. It is huge and around $80, but so worth it. You get a huge slab of melt in your mouth short rib (bone in), with 3 different sauces, 2 different seasonings, and lettuce wraps. I'm literally dreaming of this meat.... -Duck fried rice: the waiters come and mix the rice table side for you. The rice was good but I don't know if I would order it again. There wasn't anything special about it... Our drinks were good too. I got an espresso martini and enjoyed it. I definitely will come back here and try all the other dishes that they have.
